Message has organisation-wide events including online talks and panels on different topics, business and networking events, multicultural events, storytimes, health and wellness sessions, an Easter Egg Hunt, Halloween Trick or Treat, and a Holiday Party! We also have regular and long-standing organized coffee meet-ups at different cafes in Paris. In addition to all the events organized by the volunteer events team, regular activities and meetups are scheduled by members at their own initiative. Members are free to organise activities and outings that are appropriate for the ages of their own children or their own interests. Examples of recent activities include: a morning in a member's home for expectant members; an afternoon for toddlers in a local park; a playdate introducing 5-7 year olds to chess; a group Pilates session hosted at a member’s home; a lunch for working parents to exchange tips on balancing home and work life; and a gathering for a language exchange (currently available in French, Italian, Spanish... and growing!). These include talks by guest speakers, get-togethers with other members and their families, and classes for new and expecting parents. We try to schedule events throughout the week and weekend so all our members can participate, and members are also free to plan their own events. For example, a member can start a Saturday morning meet-up at a local cafe or playground, or plan a fun, kid-free evening out and invite other members to join. Where is Message's headquarters / meeting place? Message has no central office, and no paid staff. The association is entirely volunteer-run, with all social activities held in members' homes, local cafes, or in rented spaces for larger events, with many outside activities during good weather in parks or at museums. We are diverse - our members come from over 60 countries and while we all speak English, we also speak over 20 other languages. From not-yet-born to all grown-up, and everything in-between, there's something for everyone in Message! 130 Active Volunteers 2400 Kids of All Ages They say it takes a village... this is ours What We Offer The Birth of Message started in 1984 with a few young English-speaking mothers wanting to connect with others for support in raising their children while living away from local customs, traditions and family. In the past 36 years, it has grown into a vibrant and thriving community of parents who continue, year after year, to support one another, share openly, forge new friendships, and build bright futures for our families in France. 100% VOLUNTEER RUN Message is all volunteer-run with a whole lot of heart. Message has been around for 40 years, and has been built from the ground up by thousands of dedicated volunteer mamas and papas, who invest their time & energy - on top of their already busy lives - into this community because of the value it offers them. We are even led by an all-volunteer Executive Committee: fellow members who invest significant time, energy and heart into ensuring this community thrives, is found by those who need it, and always provides the best possible experience for members.
