About the Event
There are many myths about how to approach children and grief: from distracting children from the pain of loss, to not addressing a child who doesn't outwardly show pain and seems to "handle the hurt well."
In addition, children can experience loss in many forms, not just from the death of a loved one, but also through divorce, death of pet, moving away, difficult news/situations, changing schools, bullying, etc.
This workshop, lead by grief recovery method specialist Susana Castañeda, will tackle the prevailing myths about children and grief, and introduce parents to the tools on how to address loss. The aim is for parents to have more confidence in responding to loss events in their children's lives.
This workshop is not only for those of us who have already experienced major loss, but also for those of us who want to understand the strategies to be prepared when it does happen.
