Vashti Joseph moved to Washington, D.C. after completing her bachelor’s degree at the University of Dayton, double-majoring in Psychology and Women & Gender studies. After two years of living in the District of Columbia, she began to pursue a career in fashion. While completing an A.A.S. in Fashion Merchandising, Vashti started her own consulting business, focusing on fashion show production and social media and brand management. Her list of clients include: The Textile Museum, The Smithsonian Institution, The Council of Fashion Designers of America and local boutiques in the DMV area. Vashti has produced fashion shows for designers such as Jeremy Scott and Carolina Herrera at New York Fashion Week. Encouraged by her peers, Vashti applied to and was accepted into the Smith School of Business (UMD) where her focus was on cross-cultural communication and strategic consulting. Vashti currently spends her working hours supporting startups with asynchronous and globally distributed teams. In her free time, Vashti likes to experiment with Italian cooking, paint with gouache and spend time with her toddler.
