Parenting teenagers brings its own unique set of challenges. Our children are no longer totally dependent on us. They can drink alcohol, smoke, swear and roll their eyes at our ideas. They can push boundaries and our buttons, yet they can also be funny, charming and very interesting to talk to. There are a lot of clichés and stereotypes that concern teenagers and while navigating this parental stage can be challenging, it doesn't have to be.

Parenting a teenager requires new skills and ideas. These young people are preparing to be adults and they are watching us closely in order to decide what kind of adults they want to be. Are we up to the challenge ...?
