Parenting Teenagers Course: Creating Connections
About the Course
Are you the parent or guardian of a teen or teens (12+) and feel like you could do with some
support, ideas, tips and advice? Join a small group of parents of teens to come together to explore what parenting teenagers looks like for them.
This course will start in March and is a 4-week virtual class with exclusive access to a platform full of resources.
The belief that underpins this course is that parents and guardians have the resources already, but they don’t always realise it. By providing a safe, creative and collaborative space, we will move swiftly past the theory of the teenage brain and dive deep into what parenting teenagers looks and feels like to us as individuals. Using a mix of NLP tools, coaching, Non-Violent Communication tools, self-reflection and group discussion, we connect with ourselves as parents to better connect with our teens. Creating Connections is a course open exclusively to MESSAGE members to give our members confidence and courage to meet the challenges (and the joys!) of their children’s teen years.
Some of the topics that the course will cover:
- The Teenage Brain: Recognising the physical and emotional changes taking place during the teenage years
- Communicating effectively with teens
- Being a positive role model for your teen (and looking after you!)
- Understanding and managing risk-taking behaviour
- Ensuring mutual parent-teen respect
In order to participate in this course, everyone is required to complete this registration form
